Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
This policy explains what information Beyond Heathmoor collects when you play, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can to run the game.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and date of birth. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash; we never see or store it in plain text.
- Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google”, Google tells us your email address and confirms you control it. We don't get your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
- Game data: your characters and their progress: level, experience, gold, inventory, equipment, quests, map, friends and similar.
- Chat: messages you send and receive in game, including ones blocked by the chat filter, so that moderators can investigate reports of abuse.
- Technical data: like most websites, our servers and hosting providers process your IP address and basic request information to deliver the game and protect it from abuse.
How we use it
- to create your account, sign you in and save your progress;
- to check you meet the minimum age of 13;
- to run multiplayer features such as chat, trading and parties;
- to moderate the game and enforce our Terms & Conditions;
- to keep the game secure, and to find and fix problems.
We rely on the need to provide the service you signed up for, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the game safe and fair. We don't sell your data, show you adverts or use it for marketing.
Cookies and tracking
The game doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies, or third-party trackers. Your session is held in the open browser tab and ends when you log out or close it. The site loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers.
Who we share it with
We only share data with the services that host and run the game (for example web hosting, network and database providers, and Google if you use Google sign-in), and only as much as they need to do that. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect players from harm.
How long we keep it
- Account and game data: for as long as your account exists.
- Chat logs: around 90 days, unless needed longer for an open moderation case.
- Server logs: for a short period, for security and troubleshooting.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, including deleting your account, email support@example.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The game isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted, and access to player data is limited to the people who run the game. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don't use anywhere else.
Changes
We'll update this policy if what we collect or how we use it changes, and change the date at the top. For significant changes we'll let players know in game.
